Mountain Face
I love mountains, not just for their beauty and isolation but the way all the trivialities of life are reduced to nothing when you're on one. The feeling of being at peace, the clarity and connection to nature. In Cabo Verde I saw a fantastic mountain with a face, which sparked a curiousity about other mountains with faces around the world. There's a mystery about them, a wisdom and often they're steeped in legend. The image above is of the Girnar Hill Mountain in Gujarat, India. It's also part of a pilgrimage, and legend states climbing Girnar barefoot will earn a pilgrim a place in heaven.
